Develop Google Chrome OS Laptops

Google began plans to bring a notebook that uses the operating system Chrome, after the release of Android as Google's mobile platform and mobile Phone.

Some laptop manufacturers, including Acer and Samsung, are ready to handle mass production prototypes (prototype) Chrome laptop OS code named CR-48. CR-48 is expected to be ready on the market in mid-2011.

In the United States, Google Chrome program has held a pilot program inviting laptop users, researchers and programmers to test the prototype hardware and software CR-48 as well as providing input to improve the performance of the laptop.

Some detail specifications of CR-48 include: 12.1-inch LCD screen, full keyboard, touchpad-enabled click, Internet connection mode 3G, Wi-Fi standard 802.11n (300 Mbps), the duration of the battery more than 8 hours in a state active use, duration of more than 8 days in standby condition, a webcam, as well as hard drive type SSD (Solid State Disk).

While some of the features included are: Space store 100 MB per month for 2 years, the encryption of user data, Verified Boot which ensure that no modifications to the operating system as read-only Chrome firmware, sandboxing mechanism in operating systems and web browsers and plug -ins (add-on).

In terms of availability of applications, users can access the application store as on the Android OS. Store application called Chrome Web Store (https: / / chrome.google.com / webstore).
